Voting at annual meeting?
Not clear to me how to answer the question of possible additonal (and not replacement) voting at the Membership Meetings. That is, can someone not at the meeting phone or text in a ballot? That’s a slightly different issue — and I had thought was more of an immediate concern.
Remote voting
I’m in favor of remote voting or polling, if:
– It allows participation by those who would not otherwise be able to.
– Remote participation can be conducted in a way that enables remote voters to have access to the same information and discussion that present voters have.
– Remote voting encourages responsible and complete participation in review and discussion of voting issues.
I like the idea of having a Webex or Go To Meeting call open, with members being able to attend this way. Not sure how voting would be conducted, and I think it’s important that second-round votes be available to remote voters.
Thanks for examining this question!

Not in favor of remote voting for board at annual meeting
I feel it is important to attend the annual meeting and that allowing remote voting for board members would decrease in-person participation in this important meeting. I am not in favor of remote voting.

Remote Voting
I am in favor of allowing remote voting for the election of Board Members. I like the idea of having remote voting precede the General Membership meeting, so that votes can also be cast in person at the meeting, the remote and in-person votes can tallied at the meeting, and a runoff vote can be held if necessary in which only those present at the meeting can vote.
I am not in favor of allowing remote “voting” on OHA operational issues, rule changes or other topics, as technically those are polls and not true votes – and that are not binding on the Board according to our Bylaws and Rules.

voting for Board members
The short answer is yes. Remote voting– perhaps it would be clearer to refer to it as electonic/online voting–means all members can cast a vote regardless of meeting attendance. The issue is not voting at a meeting, rather, the issue is simply voting:
Should every member be able to cast a vote for board members regardless of attendance at the Annual meeting?
YES!
An online process enables votes to be cast privately within a specific timeframe, then tallied and the results announced at the Annual meeting, in compliance with By-Laws.
