Our basic control method is described in this flyer from 2013:\u00a0https:\/\/orindahorsemen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/teasel-flyer-2013.pdf<\/a><\/p>

We have just mown some of the densest stands in the upper Sullivan, the Middle Meadow & the Forest Meadow. Now the strategy is to cut the flowering (or seeding) seedheads into a bag or bucket, then cut the stalk to the ground. Carefully remove all the seed heads from the pasture to your green cart. Even though teasel is not toxic for horses, it is widely recognized as an invasive plant on grassland, and is on our AGP list of species to control for good reason.<\/p>

Continue weed whacking the flowering hemlock before it sets seed. It is toxic to horses and to people, so wear gloves.<\/p>
